Cristiano Ronaldo is expected to depart Manchester United for Paris Saint-Germain this summer. The Portuguese forwards are rumoured to join the French giants, returning to Sporting Lisbon or Juventus doubtful.

Ronaldo might leave United if they fail to qualify for the UEFA Champions League next season, according to Football Transfers. The five-time Ballon d'Or winner is reportedly interested in joining PSG to play alongside Lionel Messi of Argentina.

During his initial time with United in the noughties, Ronaldo played six seasons with the club. He scored 118 goals in 292 games in his first term, earning three Premier League crowns, an FA Cup, two EFL Cups, and a UEFA Champions League trophy.

Last summer, United recruited Ronaldo for the second time for £13 million from Juventus. He had a solid start to his second stint at Old Trafford, netting five goals in his first five games.

When he first arrived, Ronaldo scored six goals in five Champions League games, and he already has 15 goals in all competitions this season. However, he has been chastised for his slow work rate and lack of influence in the face of top-tier competition. Since the beginning of the year, the veteran striker has only scored once in ten appearances in all competitions.

Due to a hip flexor injury, he did not play in United's 4-1 loss to league leaders Manchester City. Ralf Rangnick's side slipped to sixth in the league rankings after their loss and Arsenal's win against Watford. Arsenal, who are a point ahead of United, also has three games. Ronaldo is said to be recovering from an injury in Portugal. Ronaldo's sister, interestingly, 'liked' an Instagram post claiming that the Portuguese superstar would not miss the derby due to injury.

PSG is rumoured to recruit Ronaldo as a replacement for Kylian Mbappe. The contract of the 23-year-old with the Ligue 1 club is set to end this season, and he is anticipated to leave on a free transfer. His next destination has been rumoured to be Real Madrid.

PSG is one of the few clubs in the world capable of paying Ronaldo's wage, making them the most likely destination for the 37-year-old.

Erling Haaland is the ideal replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo in Manchester United
Manchester United is said to be prioritising the acquisition of a young striker. Edinson Cavani is poised to leave on a free transfer this summer, and the Red Devils are preparing for his departure.

Anthony Martial has joined Sevilla on loan until the end of the season, possibly becoming a permanent member of the La Liga club.

United are anxious to get a top-quality striker for next season, with Ronaldo's future also in doubt.

According to the Manchester Evening News, Erling Haaland of Borussia Dortmund has emerged as a possible transfer target for United. The Norwegian striker is usually regarded as one of the best in the world, and in 79 games for the German club, he has scored 80 goals.

The 21-year-contract is thought to include a £68 million release clause, which may be activated this summer. Manchester City, Real Madrid, and Barcelona are all expected to be strong contenders for the Dortmund striker's signing.
