IPL 2022: Few reasons why the KKR will be a serious threat to RCB

The Royal Challengers Bangalore(RCB) are one of the most watched teams in the Indian Premier League, despite the fact that they have yet to win a title (IPL). RCB has finished second three times in the past (2009, 2011, and 2016). Their lack of success throughout the years has earned them the moniker "successless" (underachievers).

Meanwhile, ahead of the IPL 2022 major auction, RCB has retained Virat Kohli, Glenn Maxwell, and Mohammed Siraj. The RCB's aim during the auction was to assemble a strong team around these three key individuals. RCB had a good auction, buying Faf du Plessis, Josh Hazlewood, and Dinesh Karthik, as well as Harshal Patel, who won the purple cap last year.

Last weekend, RCB had a pre-match event at which they introduced Faf du Plessis, a former South African skipper, as their new captain. Following the completion of the previous season, Virat Kohli opted to step down as RCB's captain, leaving them without a captain for the auction. RCB have a great roster on paper, but certain clubs are anticipated to put them to the test.

Rumour has it the Kolkata Knight Riders(KKR) could give a serious threat to RCB.

In the months of March and April 2022, the oldest IPL rivalry will resurface. The inaugural IPL match occurred between Rahul Dravid's RCB and Sourav Ganguly's KKR in the 2008 season. For RCB, it was a match to forget as KKR clinched a one-sided victory. RCB and KKR, on the other hand, have played some terrific encounters against each other since then.

This season, both of these teams will have a new captain after entering the auction without one. The most difficult task for RCB will be to halt Shreyas Iyer, who has been running about like a madman. Iyer is going through a phase in his life. A surname that is the same as your surname will also bring you a difficult fortress to conquer. Venkatesh Iyer is the person we're talking about, who has developed a lot of credits in the last several months.

Sunil Narine and Varun Chakravarthy, the spin combination, will be the other challenge. Both spinners are deceiving and, on their bad days, unbeatable. Faf du Plessis, a good spinner, has been purchased by RCB, so the duel will be exciting to watch. Andre Russell has an excellent record against RCB, so they'll have to devise a strong strategy to counter him. On March 30th, RCB will take on KKR.
