Caribbean star Chris Gayle and South African star AB de Villiers have been honored by Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). The duo has been playing Indian Premier League (IPL) in RCB’s jersey for a long time. This time, these two devastating batsmen got a place in RCB’s ‘Hall of Fame’. They got emotional to be honored by their team.

Last Tuesday, RCB launched ‘Hall of Fame’ as the first team in the IPL. Gayle and Villiers are the first two cricketers to be named. Undoubtedly, they have received this honor as worthy. Because both of them are one of the best batsmen for the World Twenty20. Any opponent or bowler who flies in front of them.

RCB has never crowned a title in the IPL. However, Gayle and Villiers have played a big role in their success so far. Their contribution to the team is undeniable. The franchise has named the two former stars in the Hall of Fame in honor of that achievement.

Commenting on the two stars, teammate Virat Kohli said, “I have seen how you have changed the meaning of IPL. You have contributed a lot to where the IPL stands today. Where the team is today, the position you played behind it is huge. I played with AB for 11 years and with Gayle for 7 years.” Kohli remarked that both of them started playing with the team in 2011 and those years are special for him.

Former RCB stars are quite happy to receive special honors. Expressing his feelings, Villiers said, “To be honest, it is an unimaginable feeling. I am out of cricket now, I am emotional to be honored.” Expressing his love for the old team, Gayle said, “I thank RCB. I will always keep RCB close to my heart.”
