Former England captain Michael Vaughan has spoken out on Sunrisers Hyderabad's IPL 2022 prospects. The SRH have just won one match so far this season and are trying to stay afloat. According to cricket analysts, they did not have a good auction.

Prior to the start of the new season, the franchise dropped major players like Rashid Khan and David Warner. Between 2017 and 2021, Rashid took 93 wickets for the team, while Warner scored over 4000 runs. According to Vaughan, the team is in need of a good spinner, and Washington Sundar has a lot of work to do for the franchise. He also stated that Rashid Khan will be deeply missed by the club this season.

Vaughan commented that he doesn’t think he has ever seen a good spinner. They'll have a hard time when the wicket starts to deteriorate. Rashid Khan will be missed, and there will be a significant void to fill. He remarked that this season, he doesn’t see the SRH coming close. He hopes he is wrong, but he doesn’t believe they have enough in comparison to the other teams.

The former captain also stated that the SRH batting unit is under a lot of pressure. He believes Kane Williamson, who bats at the top of the order, has a lot of work to do and that his bowlers must produce.

He mentioned that that batting unit has to be so consistent, and the skipper has to figure out a way to deal with that bowling section in some way. In the first six overs, Washington Sundar may be very effective. However, he does not believe they have enough good spin to pose a threat in this year's IPL.

The Gujarat Titans are currently playing Sunrisers Hyderabad in their fourth match of the season. After losing two consecutive games, they defeated an ailing CSK side in their previous match.
