Not getting chance to play for the country pains Narine

Sunil Narine plays regularly in the Indian Premier League (IPL). However, there are complaints that this star cricketer of West Indies is always unwilling to play in the national team. What is the real reason? Finally, Narine himself opened up in that debate. He claimed that he could not play though wanted to play.

Narine has not been seen in the Caribbean jersey since 2019. He indirectly blamed the board and management as the reason for this. Narine said, ''There is a lot going on behind the game. I don't want to get into that. Everyone wants to play for their country, so do I. I spend my days with the pain of not being able to play even if I want to play. ''

34-year-old spinner Narine is still dreaming of playing for the national team. He even said that he is looking forward to playing for the national team whenever he gets a chance. Narine said, ''Hopefully, I will wear the country's jersey again in the future. Whenever I get a chance, I will play for West Indies. I am looking forward to playing for the country. ''

However, Narine, who grew up in an Indian Premier League (IPL) family, has been playing for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) since 2012. KKR retained Narine even after his one-season ban for bowling action. Where, Narine, who played in 148 matches, is equally effective with the bat and ball.

Crediting the KKR management for the success in the IPL, Narine said, ''KKR has trusted me. Stayed by my side even in bad times. Gautam Gambhir or Dinesh Karthik all considered me as an important member of the team. So, I tried to give my best for the team. As long as I play IPL, I will play for KKR.''
