When questioned about missing a few games for India owing to injury, Gill remarked that it is always upsetting when one miss a tour, but the ailment is something one can't control. He commented that he is still young, and there will be opportunities for him in the future. However, missing series against England and South Africa is a major deal because you always want to perform well in overseas Tests in your early twenties.
