On Day 2 of the India vs Sri Lanka first Test at the IS Bindra stadium in Mohali on Saturday, Virat Kohli got a 'Guard of Honour' from his Indian teammates. The Rohit Sharma-led team made a beautiful gesture to commemorate Kohli's 100th Test appearance. As Kohli walked onto the field just before the third session began, Indian players queued up and clapped. With a wide smile on his face, he waved his right hand and walked quickly into the middle.

Kohli joins Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid, VVS Laxman, Anil Kumble, Kapil Dev, Sunil Gavaskar, Dilip Vengsarkar, Sourav Ganguly, Ishant Sharma, Virender Sehwag, and Harbhajan Singh as the only Indians who have represented the country 100 times or more.

India declared their first innings at 574/8 against Sri Lanka. Credit to Ravindra Jadeja for scoring an unbeaten 175 runs.

However, India lost their eighth wicket early in the second session.

Ravindra Jadeja, on the other hand, continued to score runs at a rapid pace. In the 123rd over of the innings, the 33-year-old reached 150 runs.

Jadeja made an unbeaten 175 runs. Then, Rohit Sharma declared the innings with the score at 574/8 after.

On the other hand, BCCI TV interviewed Kohli regarding his milestone of 100th Test last Thursday.

The 33-year-old star stated that this is a game that he enjoys playing. He is still enthralled by the prospect of winning games for his country. When he first began playing, that was his primary motivator. He wanted to play for India and help his team win matches. He commented that that was the sole reason for his determination and that's where he’s at right now. For those on the outside, the discussion of statistics and figures is fiction. He never really paid attention to those numbers. He explained that if he did, he would not have amassed the number of runs or accomplished the milestones he had over the last 10-12 years. He said that one’s purpose must be correct, and it must remain in the same space in order for India to win matches.
