The match between Delhi and Jharkhand in the second round was one of the most exciting in recent memory. Jharkhand won the humdinger by 15 runs in the final over, knocking Delhi out of contention for a place in the quarterfinals.

Jharkhand’s Virat Singh told the media you can't go for the first-inning lead due to the shortened season. They really needed those six points, and he is delighted they got them. He added that they still have a match against Tamil Nadu to play, and they need to prevail.

Saurabh Tiwary, the usual captain, was sick the day before the match and had to miss it. Virat, who was heading Jharkhand in the Ranji Trophy for the first time, stepped up and struck a tenacious century (103). He helped Jharkhand achieve 251 in their first innings by adding 90 runs for the last two wickets.

Virat commented that even in the List A games, he has led Jharkhand in every age group. He said he has also led India's Under-19 team. He didn't think the game would come down to the wire.

Virat Kohli declared Jharkhand at 307 for 7, leaving Delhi with a target of 335 in just over two-and-a-half sessions on Day 4. The 24-year-old's gamble nearly backfired as Delhi's Dhruv Shorey countered with 136, setting up a fitting final hour.

In the final hour, Virat gave the ball to seasoned spinner Shahbaz Nadeem (5/58 & 5/83), and credit must go to the cunning left-arm spinner, as well as Anukul Roy. Delhi's run-scoring was stifled by Nadeem, who has played two Tests for India.

Virat recalled that it was a huge letdown because he had a lot of valuable knocks in that event. He batted at number six and got 61 not out to help their team win the game. The U-19 World Cup team was announced on the same day they arrived in Sri Lanka. He was a little taken aback because he was expected to be the team's captain, but he didn't make it into the squad. For him, it had been a long night. He was frustrated and depressed.

He moved on because one has to think about the greater picture, which is playing for the country, for senior India. Virat rose to fame while representing East Zone in the 2017-18 Syed Mushtaq Ali Inter Zonal Trophy.

The young star commented that MS Dhoni is his role model; he has faced numerous rejections throughout his cricket career. He did, however, lead the country for approximately ten years and was instrumental in India's three ICC titles. Dhoni’s path demonstrates that it doesn't matter where you come from; if you are ready to work hard and be honest with yourself, nothing will be able to stop you from accomplishing your goals.
