Williamson will return to ODIs

The host New Zealand was trailing 1-0 in the T20 series against India at home. The Kiwis did not get captain Kane Williamson in the third and last T20. On the day of the match, he could not come to the field to meet the doctor as per the pre-arranged schedule.

Regarding Williamson's absence, the team's head coach said, "Williamson has been wanting to see the doctor for a few days. Unfortunately, it didn't work out in our schedule. The health of the players and staff is above all else for us. We hope to have him in the ODIs."

Meanwhile, Tim Southee led the Kiwis in the third T20 against India. This pacer has the experience of leading the team before this. The New Zealand Cricket Board has also called a player as a replacement for Williamson in this match. Left-handed batting all-rounder Mark Chapman was called up to the team.

Note that Williamson has been suffering from an elbow injury for several days. However, ignoring the injury, he played a big event like the World Cup a few days ago. He is also scheduled to play in the ODI series against India. If all goes well, he will lead the Kiwis again after a one-match layoff.
