The Indian team is now on vacation in the United Kingdom ahead of their five-match Test series against England, which begins in August.

Before that, the players are scheduled to receive their second dosage of the COVID-19 vaccination on July 7 and 9.

Before flying to the United Kingdom, the Indian players had already received their initial doses at home.

With the COVID-19 situation in the UK easing, the India-England series is set to be played in front of large crowds.

However, with seven England members (three players and four members of the backroom staff) recently testing positive for COVID-19 ahead of the ODIs against Pakistan, it is unclear whether the ECB would make any changes.

After losing in the World Test Championship (WTC) final, Team India would avenge their defeat.

Virat Kohli started after the summit match that India would like to play practice games against County sides before the England series, but his request was denied.

However, the Men in Blue will play a warm-up game between July 20 and 22, after the ECB agreed to the BCCI's latest request.

The Indian players will return to the squad camp in Durham on July 15, where they will stay till August 1 before heading to Trent Bridge, Nottingham, for the first Test.

Shubman Gill's ailment is also causing Team India problems, as the opener may miss the entire five-match Test series due to a stress-related leg injury.

When the Men in Blue line up to face England in the first Test on August 4, it remains to be seen which opening combination they will use.
