On July 22nd 2021, Bangladesh made
cricketing history by thrashing Zimbabwe with eight wickets at the Harare Sports Club. The
victory, which came in the Tigers' 100th T20I, also ensured that they joined Australia and
Pakistan as the only teams to win their respective 100th matches in all formats.
In 2004, Bangladesh played India in their 100th One-Day International (ODI) in Dhaka, against a much-changed Indian team. On the other hand, the visitors had some potential superstars in their ranks, with MS Dhoni opening the batting for India one of the few times when he has done so. Aftab Ahmed was the Tigers' best player, leading them to a 15-run victory.
Bangladesh won their 100th Test against Sri Lanka at the P Sara Oval in Colombo 13 years later — a game in which Tamim Iqbal shone. Shakib al Hasan was impressive, taking six wickets in both innings to ensure the Tigers drew the two-match series 1-1.
Bangladesh has looked significantly better than the hosts in the current series against Zimbabwe, winning all white-ball games so far (3 ODIs and 1 T20I). They've been so dominant that they've won without Mushfiqur Rahim, one of their most dependable batters.
The Tigers face Zimbabwe in the second One-Day International on July 23rd, seeking to seal the series and gain momentum ahead of the T20 World Cup's Round One.
