The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has already begun to be concerned about the impending Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2022 due to the advent of the Omicron type of coronavirus. With the T20 league just around the corner, this new variety might become dangerous.

PCB has agreed to borrow the services of a foreign company for the biosecure bubble once more. They have already announced that an entire hotel will be reserved for all of the league's participants and players. To be safe, international players may need to isolate themselves for a long time after arriving in Pakistan.

However, it's worth noting that the previous two seasons of the PSL were forced to be postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. While the fifth edition's playoffs were postponed from March to November 2020, the sixth edition's first half was held in February-March 2021, and the second half was held in June 2021 in the United Arab Emirates.

The PCB does not have any contingency plans, just in case there are any roadblocks along the way. Furthermore, moving the PSL to the UAE has always been a backup plan, but COVID cases are also rising. As a result, the board faces a significant problem. Furthermore, the number of cases in Pakistan has recently increased.

While players were caught breaking procedures during the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy, the PSL's protocols are likely harsher. Furthermore, the ground personnel will be included in the bio-bubble and the players, support staff, and franchise representatives.

For the PSL 7 matches, PCB and NCOC initially agreed to allow full-capacity attendance. Because there isn't a backup plan this time, the board must ensure that the competition runs appropriately and is hosted in Pakistan. As a result, the PSL's seventh season will be held in Karachi and Lahore, which will be held between January 27 and February 27.
