Former Australia cricketer Jamie Mitchell claimed being sexually assaulted in 1985

Jamie Mitchell, a former Australian youth cricketer, has made serious charges about an incident in 1985. Mitchell said he was sexually abused after being treated by the team doctor during the Under-19 trip to Sri Lanka.

Now 55 years old, Mitchell revealed the shocking allegations regarding what happened 37 years ago. Mitchell stated that he saw a squad photo online in August of last year and contacted Cricket Australia (CA) for answers.

He even reported the incident to Australia's anti-corruption and anti-abuse watchdog, which alerted federal authorities. This is currently under investigation by the police. Mitchell has indicated that the tour has caused him "pain and sorrow" throughout his life and that he is now looking for answers about what happened during the tour of Sri Lanka.

Mitchell has requested Cricket Australia six inquiries, including the location of the tour reports and reviews. He also asked for a copy of the tour's medical report.

According to a report on the incident, Mitchell complained to the team doctor about not feeling well on March 30. The doctor gave him a powerful medicine that rendered him unconscious for ten hours.

Mitchell further stated that his teammates were particularly instructed not to check on him that night and that he believes a team official assaulted him. He did not provide any additional information on the incident during the interview.
