The ongoing Big Bash League has been marred by uncertainty because of the pandemic. Cricket Australia has decided to postpone the Adelaide Strikers, and the Melbourne Stars match due to the Covid chaos in the Starts camp. The match was initially set to take place on January 7.

On Thursday, January 6, the BBL clubs reported a few more cases. The latest players to return with positive findings are those from the Sydney Sixers and Melbourne Renegades. Up to 15 Stars players are likely to be released from isolation today. Still, there are concerns that they will be emotionally and physically ready to compete after a week of idleness.

Taking this into account, CA decided that continuing the game would be inappropriate. As a result, it became the third match that the board opted to reschedule. The same was announced on BBL's official Twitter account.

CA has ruled it wrong for those persons to play during their release from isolation due to concerns about their health and well-being. The League will announce a replacement date for the match soon, as well as arrangements to safely complete the remaining KFC BBL|11 seasons," according to the statement.

The match between Brisbane Heat and Sydney Sixers was previously postponed after 12 Heat players, and a coach returned positive PCR tests to Covid-19. In a statement, BBL general manager Alistair Dobson explained that the Heat could not field players, so the decision was made.
