In a meeting held on January 10th, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) made an agreement with the Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchises over the Covid-19 problem. In the event that a Covid-19 epidemic occurs in the middle of the tournament, contingency procedures have already been put in place. Both teams have agreed to play if there are 13 players who have tested negative for Covid-19.

The deal also called for the preparation of a pool of 25 players who were not selected in the draughts or as replacements, and who would be isolated in the bio bubble. The franchises can select players from the pool to fulfill their 13-player requirements. It should be mentioned that players will be subjected to a three-day isolation and must pass a Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) test before participating in the 2022 league.

According to a source, a PCB representative stated that the competition was concluded on time. In the event of a serious Covid-19 epidemic, the tournament may be paused for seven days, but it will recommence with a large number of doubleheaders in order to finish on time. The league is set to begin on January 27 and conclude on February 27.

The rationale for accommodating PSL in these trying circumstances has been revealed to be the tight home schedule coming up later this year. The three major countries have all agreed to tour Pakistan for bilateral series, which is a significant step toward earning the boards' confidence. These countries are Australia, England, and New Zealand. After the gunshot attack on the Sri Lankan team bus in 2009, few teams have visited Pakistan.

Furthermore, the board of Cricket South Africa (CSA) has indicated that no NOC will be provided to players for the PSL 2022 season. Instead of participating in the PSL, the board wants the players to focus on their home competitions and international matches. The teams have also been denied the opportunity to bring their family along, which is a major disadvantage given the bio bubble exhaustion.
