Mehidy Hasan and Chattogram Challengers both expressed apologies for their behaviour during their latest public feud, according to a Bangladesh Premier League(BPL) official on Friday (February 4). Hasan intended to withdraw from the BPL after being relieved of his captaincy by the team. According to a source, Hasan was told right before the beginning of the match, and thanks to team owner MD Dato KM Rifatuzzaman's involvement, the Challengers were able to persuade him to remain behind and complete his participation in the competition.

After being sacked as captain, Hasan pledged to Dhaka and never lead the team again. However, the team was able to persuade the Bangladeshi player to carry on playing. The team is presently ranked fifth in the points standings, having won only three of its eight games.

The BPL's governing council summoned Challengers owner Rifat Uzzaman, chief operating officer Syed Easir Alam, and player Mehidy on February 3 to demand a clarification.

BPL governing council member, secretary Ismail Haider Mallick, stated that they decided to contact Miraz and Challengers officials to learn the reasons for their public reactions, which sparked unfounded suspicion. Both the athlete and the franchise officials admitted to acting irrationally and without thinking about the implications. He added that it was a case of misunderstanding that should have been resolved peacefully inside the group. They have expressed regret for allowing the matter to get out of control and took the blame for the board's and competition's disappointment.

He also remarked that the board is convinced after meeting with the player and officials that this was an internal management issue with the Chattogram Challengers, which has since been rectified. They also learn that the idea of replacing Miraz as captain, which appears to have caused the confusion, was conveyed to the player by management long before the team's next game.

Mallick commented that the Board has emphasised the importance of the tournament to the players and club executives, as well as its zero-tolerance approach on discipline and integrity.
