The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has imposed strict bio-bubble protocols during the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL), which affects the players. As a result, Alex Hales of Islamabad United and Ben Duckett of Quetta Gladiators have withdrawn from the campaign.

Foreign and several Pakistani players have expressed dissatisfaction with their confinement to the hotel and stadium, and their families are not permitted to accompany them. The players have asked the managing committee to provide more facilities in an open-air setting.

Because of financial losses caused by postponements in the last two editions of the league due to the Covid-19 outbreak, PCB has implemented specific stringent measures. According to PCB, the entire hotel in Karachi has been booked, while PSL will stay in a separate hotel wing in Lahore.

The PSL 2022 season kicked off on January 27 in Karachi with defending champions Multan Sultans and Karachi Kings. Except for the qualifying, eliminator, and final, the competition is now in its second leg, with nine more matches to be played. The games will be held in the Karachi National Stadium and the Gaddafi Stadium.

Multan Sultans and Lahore Qalandars are now in first and second place, respectively, while Islamabad United and Peshawar Zalmi are in third and fourth place. Surprisingly, the Karachi Kings, led by Pakistan captain Babar Azam, have yet to win a game in the competition.
